Having a home is one great achievement in the life of any individual. Having that home done and furnished the way you want and like is another great feat, and it can be even greater if you do all that with a partner.
Having a home means you have comfort and protection. Comfort comes from things you add to your home to make your life easier and there are plenty of things out there. today we won’t talk much about furnishing your home, because, besides the fact that that would be one huge article, we want to focus on something else. We will focus on one thing that annoys almost all of us.

We are talking about your dining room and your table chairs. What is so interesting about them? Well, as far as design goes plenty of interesting things there that we all can utilize in many different ways. As far as aesthetics go there is one interesting thing that hurts a lot of us. Since we have a lot of designs and materials table chairs, especially their legs, are being made of, most of us are having issues with those scraping our tiles, and wooden floors, leaving imprints and destroying our carpets.
As you can see from the title of the article, we focused on how you can protect your floors and your carpets. There are several ways you can protect your floors and one of the solutions can be found right here. We will discuss it a bit in detail below, so stick with us.

Since there are plenty of different types of chairs out there you need a lot of different protection for your floors or carpets, right?! Well, the answer is yes and no.
Thanks to modern manufacturing almost all manufacturers are now paying attention to details that were neglected and consider not to be that important. Society changed a lot in the past 20 to 50 years and things that were considered unimportant then are now make-or-break situations for many. What do we mean by that? Well, take this. The imprints or scratches on the floor, are made by the chairs. Somewhere around 50 years ago there were chairs as well, but little to no worries about floor scratches and marks. Those types of details were not important but times have changed. we elevated our living standards and some things are now more appreciated. Some of those things are the protections under the chair legs put there by the manufacturer that is considerate to your very expensive and shiny hardwood floor.
When we are talking about chair leg protection there is one way to protect your floor or anything else that chair is sitting on. Put something on the bottom of the leg that is making contact with the floor.

Now depending on the placement of that chair and depending on the surface that chair resides on the things under the legs will be slightly different to accommodate for the comfort and safety of that chair. If you have a lacquered hardwood floor or any other surface that can be easily scratched by the chair being dragged across that surface, you need felt pads. These are easy to set and easy to maintain. All you need to do is buy the appropriate size pads so they don’t stick from underneath the chair, stick them to the bottom of the leg and you are set. Now just make sure to buy a few quality pads just because of the adhesive. If you buy the cheap ones you will constantly have issues with them being torn or detached from the chair and you will constantly need to replace them. Get a bit pricier ones because their adhesive is a bit stronger and they will last you a bit longer.
Another thing to focus on is the pads that have nails or small screws. Now, these are a lot more durable and a bit more expensive, but nothing that will cause you a big headache or a hit on your budget. These types of pads are awesome because they are pressed into the wooden leg of your chair or screwed in, if it is a screw pad, and they will be a lot more durable and you will not need to watch them because they may detach because of the bad glue or adhesive. The downside of these is that if you have chair legs made out of metal, aluminium or any other material that does not support these being nailed in or screwed in, you will have to look for different solutions.

The solution for chairs that have a carriage or tubular frames is the pads that are stuck to a piece of plastic that is moulded in a chair frame shape. For tubular frames, you have tubular plastics alone or with felt beneath them, or you can have sledge type of plastics pads with or without felt that gets stuck to the chair leg and held there.
When you have chairs with steel legs and frames you only have one solution and it is just the same as with the wooden legs – felt or rubber pad and invest in a good adhesive. Metal legs are pretty limiting especially round and squared ones but thankfully companies like the one here have something for each type. There are new chair legs that allow for the plastic, felt and rubber caps to be screwed in for them to be safe for your ceramics, hardwood floors or even outdoor rough floors. Check them out and you will see what we mean. They have a lot to offer and we believe that there is no chance that you will not find what you need.
Another top tip, for those of you that enjoy those niece big rocking chairs in your home or patio – invest in a roll of self-adhesive Velcro and try hook and loop fasteners. Separate the two sides of the Velcro and cut two links from the loop side that are just slightly shorter than the curved rocker bottom. Remove the adhesive backing and stick them to the underside of your chair. This will allow you to rock all you want without being scared of leaving scratches or marks on your floor.
